AIMM Sees Upswell Of Interest In Music Production Degree

The Atlanta Institute of Music and Media (AIMM), based in Duluth, Georgia, is pleased to report that interest in their Music Production Degree has exceeded expectations. They are now offering an Associate of Applied Science in Music Production and Audio for Media Program for those interested in pushing their technical recording and sound engineering skills to professional levels in the rapidly changing audio industry.

Nite Driscoll, President of Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, says, “All of our programs are well rounded, providing students with the specifically tailored education they need to develop their skills and knowledge to prepare for employment in a variety of fields. Helping our passionate and talented musicians, sound engineers, audio producers and media students achieve their potential and success across a wide variety of career paths is our mission. In an ever changing industry, we will ensure that our curriculum adapts to meet the needs of our students.

AIMM utilizes a well-rounded curriculum of classroom instructions, stage performances, computer labs, recording studios and life clinics to provide the extensive education that no other accredited music college can match. Those with a passion for music or media can learn from both sides of the studio in an environment that is designed to help them excel.

In addition to the skills they master at the Atlanta music production college, students are also given the opportunity to become Pro Tools Certified when they complete their program. This is the entry point for becoming Avid Certified, which is often required for job applicants in this arena.

Recently AIMM published an Ultimate Guide to Singing, which was featured on the KTVN news site as well as News 9, Street Insider, USA Today and many others. Their guide covers a variety of basics, such as vocal techniques, warm-up strategies, what vocalists should and should not consume before a performance, the best equipment for singers and so on. It even enumerates several habits that aspiring singers should avoid. Nite Driscoll is quoted saying, "What separates a talented individual from a prodigy is not their raw talent, as many believe, but how they develop it. Vocal talent is a mix of technique, determination and practice, and only those who find a balance of these factors can elevate their singing to the next level and become outstanding individuals."

Helping their students find that balance for their own skills is how the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media trains and develops raw talent into professionals who can forge successful careers in their chosen fields. As an accredited music college, students benefit from the instruction and guidance of those who have already navigated many of the challenges they will face. Nurturing their students’ growth and development to become the best in their chosen area is fundamental to each of their programs.

Their Associate of Applied Science in Music Production and Audio for Media Program can be completed in 18 months of accelerated studies, 24 months of full-time enrollment or 30 months of ¾ time enrollment. Graduates will gain an in-depth understanding of recording, mixing and mastering. They will also receive training in Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR), location sound and sound design for film and gaming.

Complete information about the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media's admissions process is available online, including requirements and the admissions process for both American and international students. Those interested can schedule a tour and inquire how they may transfer to AIMM. The music academy caters to students with special needs as well to ensure that they have equal access to the campus and the curriculum.
