Tips For Creating a YouTube Channel as a Musician

YouTube is, by far, one of the greatest music discovery platforms there is.

However, because of its immense popularity, the competition for attention is enormous.

On YouTube, you're competing with other talented musicians, but you are also fighting for eyes and ears against cat videos and anything else people can dream of.

That's why it is vital that people interested in your music, genre, or cover songs can find your videos. And, it's important that once they find you, they watch as much of the video as possible.

View count alone isn't the only metric that's crucial anymore. They also need to spend some time on your videos.

In the article below, we will discuss a few tips on how to get your YouTube channel found and how to keep your fans engaged.

10 Of The Greatest Drummers Of All Time

Listing 10 of the Greatest Drummers

The exact criteria for a great drummer has divided music fans since the very first beat was played.

Some people argue that feel should preside over technical skills, and some prefer showmanship over restraint.

So, making a definitive list of the top 10 drummers of all time would be near impossible.

But, we tried it anyway.

We've done our best, but there will be, without a doubt, drummers we missed that you think should be on the list and drummers we did add to the list that you think shouldn't be there.

Either way, we'd love to hear what you think in the comments. And remember, this is a list containing 10 of the greatest drummers, not the only great drummers.

So, without further ado, let's dive into our list of the ten greatest drummers in music history.

Performing is a big part of a singer's life which can cause voice health issues. However, if you know what drinks you shouldn't consume to help your voice maintain over time, you'll be on a good path to a successful career.

1. Milk, performance prep for singers | vocalist tipsMilk is part of the dairy family. And while milk is delicious (especially chocolate milk), it clings to your throat and creates extra mucus. You will consistently feel like clearing your throat during the performance and lack significant flexibility. For some people, milk can cause acid reflux as well. Definitely not something you'd want to occur during a performance.
2. Soda, soda is carbonated, so it has that bubbly-effect. It will put a lot of air in your stomach and can lead to burping. Probably not something you'd want to happen on stage. Also, soda is full of processed sugars that can add phlegm to your throat, similar to dairy.
3. 1)Beer can give you gas and a bloating feeling. Your diaphragm won't feel relaxed which is essential to proper singing. 2)Some brands of wine can severely dry your throat out. While you don't want too much phlegm, a dry throat can cause strain when singing. 3)The problem with mixed drinks is all the sugar they often add to these drinks. The increased and processed sugar will add mucus and decrease your flexibility.

Singers have an incredible and unique instrument that can not be replaced: Their voices. Taking care of it is vital to have a long-lasting music career. When performing, knowing what you can drink before or during keeps your voice healthy to deliver a great performance.

1. Water, staying hydrated is a necessity and nothing will assist you better than plain, natural water. You don't want the water to be ice-cold, room temperature is preferred, but if you want it a little cooler it still works fine.

2. Decaffeinated tea can be quite soothing to your throat muscles. This will increase your flexibility and allow your muscles to stay relaxed. The more relaxed your muscles you'll notice better control of your voice, ease hitter higher pitches, and with tea, you'll feel hydrated, but not bloated.

3. Honey, not exactly a "liquid." However, small doses of honey in tea or water can be effective to soothe your voice. While fighting vocal strains, it also is preventative for sore throats.

By applying to the vocal music programs our music school offers, you will not just know how to maintain your voice healthy but also learn techniques and master your abilities.

Being a new musician looking for recognition, c...

Being a new musician looking for recognition, creating a mix-tape is a great way to experiment with your music and talents to get noticed and make a name for yourself. But how can you create a mix-tape that is interesting? By following these tips you can be a step closer to a music career:

-Develop an Outline for your Mix-tape: Clear set of goals and plan of action is important. When you decide to make a mix-tape, there are a few components you should consider. 1) who are you as an artist and what is your style. 2) you should decide on a theme for your mix-tape.
-Get or Create Beats for your Mixtape: You need to either create your own beats or find some to use. Since you are not profiting off of it, using the beats from popular songs shouldn't be a problem.
-Write Original Lyrics: Original lyrics may end up being the most time consuming and important aspect of your mix-tape. Having original lyrics are vital to connecting with your listeners and gaining popularity.
-Record and Edit your Mixtape: This process is often the most frustrating because you will spend hours re-recording and editing your music.
-Promote your Mixtape: Luckily, we live in the digital age and self-promotion has many platforms for musicians.

By applying to AIMM, you will have infinite opportunities to be a professional musician.

If you are passionate about music and want to travel around the US, you should definitely visit the called "Music cities" where you can visit a music venue or listen to some live tunes while eating local cuisine. There are many music cities in the US, however, here are some the most important ones:

1. New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz which was cultivated in the early 20th century before it spread across the country. Music is the heart of everyday life in this city.

2. Atlanta has a highly acclaimed reputation and influence in the hip-hop industry. It is also home to indie artists such as Mastodon, Manchester Orchestra, and the Black Lips.

3. Chicago, where you find music venues for every taste of music; however, it is known for the Blues. The "Chicago Blues" style appeared post-World War II when many African-Americans moved to the north to look for work.

4. Nashville, home of country and western music in the US, nicknamed "Music City USA". The most famous music legacy in Nashville is the Grand Ole Opry.

5. New York is the birthplace of genres such as hip-hop, punk, and disco. One of the most compelling aspects of New York's music scene is the variety.
